I really hate pious right-wing assholes

Look at this Facebook Fan Page title:

DEAR LORD, THIS YEAR YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE ACTOR, PATRICK SWAYZIE. YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE ACTRESS, FARAH FAWCETT. YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE SINGER, MICHAEL JACKSON. I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW, MY FAVORITE PRESIDENT IS BARACK OBAMA. AMEN

And 2 of my Facebook friends, who claim to be all pious and shit think this is funny. What a bunch of hypocrites.

I am so angry at America and at "Christians". What a load of absolute bullshit.

Sarah Palin recently said we live in a Christian nation and that fundamentally that America is a christian nation. What a terrible country it would be if that were true.

Good for you for purging non-accepting friends. And seriously, who really misses Farrah and Patrick as actors?

What I understood about the Christian religion (turn the other cheek, love they neighbor, do unto others as you would have them do unto you...) turns out not to be what that religion is actually about.

Christianity is actually a platform to teach bigotry, hatred and arrogant intolerance.

Isn't that a lovely way to bring up the kids?

But Linda, even if we don't exactly pine for Farrah and Patrick or hold special screenings of Logan's Run or Point Break in memorium, we can still be sad that they were taken by sickness too early.

Glad to hear you're singing again in public. The shower has already experienced your entire repertoire and I'm guessing there were no encore requests at that venue. As you observed, some Christians just haven't gotten the memo, but don't condemn the religion for failings of some of its followers. Or do you agree with those who painted all Muslims with the "broad brush" after 911? Lastly, I was wondering how many prayer vigils you helf for W during his eight years in office? (lol) Bob E.

Bob,

It is my firm belief that organized religion is the bane of humanity. Control, control, control and spread fear.
